LAUNCHING A PROGRAM FOR THE EXCELLENCE OF PUBLIC HEALTH RESEARCH
The Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) launched its Excell program on Monday in Diamniadio, Rufisque Department, with the ambition to contribute to capacity building public health research in Africa, “said a statement to the APS.
The event was held at the premises of the Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance and Training (IRESSEF), on the sidelines of a workshop dedicated to African researchers and which will continue until Thursday.
According to the text, the aim of the “Excell” program is to strengthen public health research capacity “by African scientists in Africa and for Africa”.
“Through this two-year program, AREF will work closely with six research institutions in sub-Saharan Africa, selected on the basis of competitive criteria,” the statement said.
He added that the “Excell” program should enable 20 (nominated) researchers in member research institutions to realize their potential, “namely: building strong research careers, coaching excellent teams, securing funding and building collaborative links internationally. ”
“The themes explored under the Excell program are: the researcher as a leader, the effective researcher, the convincing researcher, the researcher manager and the researcher in charge,” the statement said.
