IRESSEF HOSTS A TRAINING SESSION ON THE TRANSPORT OF INFECTIOUS SUBSTANCES

The MSAS’ prevention directorate and the Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance and Training (IRESSEF) are organizing a joint training session on the shipment of samples for the diagnosis of infectious diseases with epidemic potential since Monday 06 July.

About 25 stakeholders from the 14 regions of the country involved in the dispatching of samples for the diagnosis of infectious diseases with epidemic potential, particularly those presenting a major risk of dissemination (hemorrhagic fever, tuberculosis, polio) are participating in this workshop.

The workshop aims at providing adequate skills on how to pack and ship samples in compliance with regulatory standards to guarantee the integrity of biological samples and their timely arrival at destination.

The WHO module, European regulations (ADR) and American regulations (DOT) for the transport of infectious substances by road will be used during this training.

A certificate with 2 years validity will be issued to all participants having a score of 80% during the final exam. A similar training is expected to be held every 24 months.
