iLEAD (Innovation in Laboratory Engineered Accelerated Diagnostics) is a research program that provides a platform to facilitate the implementation of innovations that have the potential to improve the laboratory value chain. iLEAD has five focus areas: Patient access, Specimen, Transport, Testing (centralized laboratory or POC system) and System-wide Connectivity.

The Grant :
The Réseau Africain de Recherche en Santé – Institut de Recherche en Santé, de Surveillance Epidémiologique et de Formation (RARS – IRESSEF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI), the Ministry of Health and Social Action (MSAS) and the National Academy of Science and Technology of Senegal (ANSTS) is offering five (5) grants to young innovators through the iLEAD program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The purpose of these grants is to support the development, advancement and/or completion of innovation projects in the laboratory value chain among young people (students, scientists, researchers, etc.).
The grant (up to US$ 10,000) will cover research-related costs (equipment, supplies, reagents and consumables, travel expenses, subsistence allowance).
