Pôle urbain de Diamniadio, un nouveau souffle à Dakar

Diamniadio Présentation

The project of the Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance and Training (IRESSEF) has become a reality. The imposing building, which houses its premises, is nestled in the heart of Diamniadio, not far from the International Conference Center Abdou Diouf of Diamniadio. It is built on an area of about 3 acres. This institute, initiated by Professor Souleymane Mboup, is entirely funded by Gilead, an international organization that intervenes in 130 countries whose objective is to develop pharmaceutical products and make them available to poor countries.

IRESSEF is positioning itself as a showcase in the fields of research and training in Africa, according to Pr. Mboup. It is true that “we have demonstrated a great deal of experience in the field of research, in particular with HIV / AIDS in partnership with health policies and this has given us quite satisfactory results”, emphasizes Professor Mboup. He stated he wants to continue this experiment with traditional diseases, and the new epidemics recently seen, such as Ebola and Zika. The team of Professor Mboup counts on the institute, to extend the training possibilities. The Institute will be a state-of-the-art platform for students, health personnel, biologists, researchers through 4 areas of intervention: training, research, diagnosis and monitoring. IRESSEF will be a training facility for more than 400 people and a specialized education center in each unit will be provided for training.
